You don’t have to restrict, deprive, and get your ass kicked in boot camp workouts in order to love your body. In fact, those behaviors are where my eating disorder began nearly 15 years ago. Restriction will not bring freedom. Deprivation will not bring abundance. Hate does not bring love. You cannot hate your way to loving your body. You don’t have to fight and struggle and demonstrate incredible amounts of willpower and withholding in order to love your body.
Our society wants you to believe differently. I know, I fell for that bullshit, too. Take it from a woman who has wriggled free from the grips of anorexia, our societal rhetoric is complete and utter bullshit. It sells you products. It makes you weak and needy and the perfect prey for profit. It’s bullshit.
You can love your body right now, today, without changing a damn thing. It’s both simple and hard as fuck. It’s terrifying and uncertain, but it is the only way home to you.
Here’s what you have to do….
You have to prioritize your own joy. You have to get clear on all that makes you happy. You have to decide how you want to feel and pursue those feelings with every single move that you make. That’s how you learn to love your body.
It’s not hidden in the 50th squat thrust, that bland chicken, or that restrictive 1,200 calorie diet. It’s hidden in your heart, in your soul, and it is your life’s work to make it a reality.
You see, there is another way – the THRIVE way.

Disclaimer: I know this to be true because I’ve lived it. I did the restriction, deprivation, bland diets, boot camp workouts, and willpower bullshit. And, all I got was more bullshit and struggle. Then, I did the joy work. I got clear on how I truly wanted to feel in my body and in my life, and I pursued those feelings with passion. All I got from that was indescribable happiness and a life that feels so much the me that I had always wanted to be.
